The History:
In the beginning, it was just the idea of four friends to throw a party at the "Triebwerk." However, after only one hour from the opening, the venue became packed to the brim, and it was clear that this wouldn't be the only party they would throw. So, they decided to find a permanent location, and as luck would have it, a hall at the "Zughafen" became available.
In September, after clearing and cleaning the hall, they held the very first KLUBNACHT in December, and that's how Kalif Storch was born. From then on, they organized a Klubnacht every month, as well as various concerts, and Kalif slowly started to make a name for itself in Erfurt.
During the summer breaks and Kalif's birthdays, every year (up to this day), they utilized the time to make improvements and changes to Kalif. For instance, one year after its establishment, the "kleine Muck" was opened, and the courtyard turned into a pleasant chill area.
Today, Kalif is more than just a club: it is a sociocultural center with a diverse program, providing a space for cultural creators and young people in the city of Erfurt. Together, we want to contribute to making Erfurt more colorful and provide creative individuals with opportunities and libertys to bring their ideas to life. Moreover, alongside the cultural aspect, we are committed to political engagement, actively fighting against discrimination and racism of all kinds. We aim to use our space, with the help of our staff and supporters, to bring about changes in this regard. Our goal is not only to create a safe space for celebrating, having fun, and exchanging ideas within our four club walls but also to reach people beyond these boundaries.
We are a young, motivated, and continuously growing team, consisting of creative and forward-thinking individuals. Diversity, respect, and an open and receptive collaboration are especially important to us.
